Native to Côte-Rôtie, the Ogier family has been farming their land in mixed farming for more than six generations. Simple farmers, they cultivated mainly grapes and apricots for sale to the trade.

In 1983, Michel Ogier took advantage of the growth of the Côte-Rôtie appellation to market the first Domaine Ogier cuvée. Initially confidential, the estate's production gradually grew, so much so that in 1989, the estate stopped all sales to the wine trade, in order to vinify its entire production.

Stéphane Ogier, joined his father, Michel, in 1997, after having studied oenology for five years, and quickly took over the management of the estate. Under his impetus, the small estate grew from 2.5 ha to 20 ha divided between Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint-Joseph.

In 2004, the construction of a new ultramodern winery was completed, where all the vintages of Domaine Stéphane Ogier are now vinified. It is this winery, along with Stéphane Ogier's knowledge and precision, that quickly brought the estate's wines to the top of the Rhone Valley wines.

The Côte-Rôtie Stéphane Ogier Réserve 2011 is 100% Syrah and has a magnificent deep purple color with ruby reflections.
On the nose, it opens with full and exuberant scents of blackberries and other small black fruits wrapped in floral notes of lavender and various spices.
On the palate, the Côte-Rôtie Réserve 2011 offers a lively and moderately full-bodied attack. The mid-palate lets the fruity aromas develop and reveal all their purity, supported by a velvety tannic line and finely dosed acidity, to conclude on a finish that is as delicious as it is remarkably long and persistent.

The Côte-Rôtie Stéphane Ogier Réserve 2011 is a real masterstroke. It is already in its ideal peak of tasting and should continue to gain in maturity at least until 2030.
