Small property located in Ampuis in the Rhone Valley, Domaine Pichat has for a long time exploited its two hectares of vines without producing its own wine. Until the day Stéphane Pichat decided to vinify and market his production.

Thus, in 2000, a new chapter in the history of Domaine Pichat began with the confidential marketing of 900 bottles.

Today, the property has grown and extends over four hectares of sandy schist terroirs, mainly in Côte-Rôtie, but also in Condrieu. The vineyard of Domaine Pichat, planted with Syrah (the dominant grape variety) and Viognier, is worked according to the principles of integrated viticulture, without pesticides or insecticides, and using only AB certified (Organic Agriculture) phytosanitary products.

Rich, concentrated and deep, Les Grandes Places is the iconic cuvée of Domaine Pichat.

In the glass, the Côte-Rôtie Domaine Pichat Les Grandes Places 2018 has a beautiful deep purple color with ruby reflections.
On the nose, it opens with rich and concentrated aromas of red and black fruits accompanied by tertiary scents of grilled red meat and torrefied notes.
Full-bodied and powerful, Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places 2018 unfolds on the palate with an abundance of finely delineated juicy fruit supported by a straight, astringent tannic line to end on a long, persistent finish tinged with an elegant touch of roast.

Still a little young, the Côte-Rôtie Domaine Pichat Les Grandes Places 2018 should reach its ideal tasting peak in 2023. It will continue to evolve and gain in depth at least until 2035.
