Founded in 1983 by Michel Ogier, Domaine Ogier then only had a small plot of land in Côte-Rôtie. It was only after Stéphane Ogier took over the management of the property that the estate really took off.

Arriving in 1997, after studying oenology in Beaune, Stéphane Ogier developed the family vineyard by buying several plots of land in Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint-Julien, to reach a surface area of around twenty hectares today. Since 2004, the estate has benefited from an ultra-modern winery which allows Stéphane Ogier to put all his know-how and exceptional talent into practice to create ever better vintages, with incredible consistency.
Today Stéphane Ogier is considered by the majority of critics as one of the elite of the Rhone Valley winemakers.

The Côte-Rôtie Stéphane Ogier Lancement 2016 is composed of a 100% Syrah blend. To accentuate its finesse, the grapes have been completely de-stemmed and vinified only in used oak barrels.

In the glass, Côte-Rôtie Lancement 2016 shows a magnificent dark purple colour with ruby reflections and distils a rich and elegant bouquet of red berries interspersed with notes of roses and black tea.
More focused on finesse than power, the Côte-Rôtie Stéphane Ogier "Lancement" 2016 offers a moderate attack followed by an ample and generous mid-palate. The aromas present on the nose are well transcribed and are accompanied by subtle notes of olives and meat. Straight and perfectly balanced, it has a silky texture with fine, velvety tannins leading to a finish that is as soft as it is persistent.
