The history of Domaine Stéphane Ogier goes back to more than six generations of farmers practicing mixed farming (mainly grapes and apricots) and selling most of their production.
In 1997, when Stéphane Ogier took over the management of the estate, after studying oenology, the vineyard covered an area of barely 2.5 hectares.
Today, the estate only grows grapes, and its vineyard covers about 20 hectares, in Côte-Rôtie, but also in Condrieu and Saint Joseph.
Since 2014, Stéphane Ogier has been vinifying his wines in Ampuis, in an ultra-modern winery that allows him to experiment and put his advanced oenological knowledge into practice. His incredibly exacting selection of his plot-based vintages, as well as his extraordinary style and precision, have quickly led Domaine Stéphane Ogier to the top of the appellation, where he is now among the elite.
Côte-Rôtie Mon Village 2018 is built around a blend of six 100% Syrah parcels. In the glass, it has a superb deep purple color with ruby tints and a charming bouquet of ripe red berries with herbaceous and peppery spice notes.
On the palate, Côte-Rôtie Stéphane Ogier Mon Village 2018 opens with a full-bodied attack. Aromas of juicy cherries and raspberries develop in the mid-palate, supported by chewy tannins. Fresh and pleasant to drink, it finishes on silky and fatty notes of olive oil.
Côte-Rôtie Stéphane Ogier Mon Village 2018 is ready to drink but should continue to mature over the next 10 years.
