Château Barde-Haut is a Grand Cru Classé of the Saint-Emilion< appellation belonging to Sylvianne Garcin-Cathiard, also owner of the famous Clos l'Eglise. Its vineyard extends over 17 hectares of clay-limestone soil facing south and allowing a superb ripening of the fruits. The grape varieties are dominated by Merlot (85%) and supplemented by Cabernet Franc (15%).

With respect for the environment, the vineyard is worked according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, with regular ploughing of the soil and manual harvesting. Since 2011, major investments have been made with the acquisition of new cellars and equipment to optimise environmental protection.

In the glass, Château Barde-Haut 2019 has a magnificent deep purple colour with a garnet-red rim and distils an ample and enticing bouquet of small red and black fruits (plums, morello cherries, raspberries) mixed with earthy and floral notes. More discreet, touches of spices and wood emerge after a few swirls in the glass.
On the palate, 2019 Château Barde-Haut reveals a lively, full-bodied attack. Ripe and juicy fruits develop in the middle of the mouth, releasing a pleasant freshness, supported by a round and velvety tannic structure before finishing on a fresh and fruity finish.

There is no doubt that the 2019 vintage of Château Barde-Haut is a real success!
