Château Barde-Haut is located east of Saint-Emilion, near the Château Troplong-Mondot vineyard.
Its 17-hectare vineyard is made up of a clay-limestone soil and benefits from a grape variety of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (the vines have an average age of 33 years). Château Barde-Haut prefers sustainable agriculture and tradition with manual harvesting.
The wines are vinified in small thermo-regulated vats and matured in 100% new barrels for an average of 18 months.

Château Barde-Haut has long been known for its great taste and interesting ageing potential. Nevertheless, since 2000, its new owner, Sylviane Garcin Cathiard, has succeeded in taking it to the next level!

Château Barde-Haut 2017 is a blend dominated by Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%).
In the glass, it shows itself dressed in a beautiful intense and deep purple color and distills a bouquet of small cooked and jammed black berries as well as notes of cocoa, flowers and earth.
On the palate, Château Barde-Haut 2017 is moderately full-bodied and supported by silky, fine-grained tannins. The black fruits flood the palate with an incredible freshness and evolve, revealing delicate mineral notes on an endless finish.
