The vineyard of Château Barde-Haut extends over 17 hectares on the eastern side of Saint-Emilion. It is composed of a typical terroir of the appellation: a clay soil on a draining limestone subsoil.

Since 2000, the property has been purchased by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard, who has made many investments to modernize the estate, including the renovation of the winemaking cellar and the installation of new tanks.

It is thanks to the combination of this exceptional terroir and modern wine-making techniques that Château Barde-Haut is now considered one of the most promising estates in Saint-Emilion!

Made from a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%), Château Barde-Haut 2018 has a pretty deep garnet colour, pulling towards purple.
In the glass, it distills an enchanting bouquet of cooked or candied black fruits, as well as tertiary notes of spices and tobacco.
On the palate, Château Barde-Haut 2018 is full-bodied on the attack. The mid-palate lets develop multiple layers of black fruit coated with spices. Supported by a straight and satiny tannic structure, the fruit aromas fill the palate with incredible freshness and finish with an exquisite finish and an impressive length!
