About Château Figeac 1964
Bottle (75cl)

With a surface area of 54 hectares, the Château Figeac estate is the largest in the Saint-Emilion appellation. But it is also the most beautiful thanks to its architectural heritage integrating vestiges of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the modern era. Without forgetting its century-old trees, its kilometers of hedges, its pond and its watercourses which encourage local biodiversity.

Its vineyard, spread over forty hectares is also exceptional. Indeed, its grape varieties are unusual in Saint-Emilion, with a preponderance of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon (35% each), relegating Merlot to third place (30%).

In the glass, Château Figeac 1964 has a magnificent deep purple garnet color and distils an incredibly rich nose full of abundant red berries, intermingled with tertiary notes of truffles and vanilla, subtly enhanced by a hint of peppermint.
On the palate, Château Figeac 1964 is extraordinarily lively. Crisp and full-bodied on the attack, it displays a breathtaking freshness in the mid-palate. The richness and complexity of the aromas reveal themselves in successive layers, with notes of cherry and orange liqueur, as well as an elegant woody touch of cedar that emerges on a long and remarkably persistent finish.

In 1994, Wine Advocate gave it a score of 94/100 and estimated its peak maturity between 1994 and 2000. Twenty years later, in 2016, Wine Advocate gave the 1964 Chateau Figeac an incredible 97/100 without making any prognosis on its future development.

This Château Figeac 1964 has not finished surprising us!
