Property of Bernard Magrez, the Château Les Grands Chênes vineyard extends over 34 hectares of gravel in the heart of the Médoc. The vineyard is planted with 70% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% of Cabernet Franc. All these vines are about forty years old on average.

Château Les Grands Chênes 2017 is a Cru Bourgeois made from a blend of two grape varieties dominated by Merlot (60%) and completed with Cabernet Sauvignon (40%). Michel Rolland, the estate's consultant oenologist, has done an exceptional job, making a great wine in this difficult vintage.

In the glass, Château Les Grands Chênes 2017 presents a magnificent dark purple colour with garnet reflections and reveals a complex bouquet of black fruits surrounded by woody notes, truffles and tar.
Once on the palate, Château Les Grands Chênes 2017 offers a medium-bodied palate, with a soft and velvety tannic structure. It is loaded with an abundance of concentrated black fruits rolled up in earthy notes. In the middle of the mouth, the fruity aromas let out subtle liquorice notes and stretch until giving a long, persistent finish to pronounced earthy notes.

Château Les Grands Chênes 2017 draws the best from its terroir by presenting an intensely fruity, ample and velvety wine.
