Château de la Dauphine is a beautiful Fronsac estate with vineyards covering more than 50 hectares of diverse terroirs: with clayey-limestone soils, Fronsac soft soils or clay-silt soils. This mosaic of terroirs is planted with the two major grape varieties of the Fronsadais, Merlot and, to a lesser extent, Cabernet Franc.

Committed to protecting the environment and preserving biodiversity, Château de la Dauphine works its land using biodynamic methods and benefits from organic farming certification (BIO & BIODYAMIE).

After manual and plot-by-pot harvesting followed by a rigorous double sorting (in the vineyard and in the cellar), Château de la Dauphine 2019 has benefited from a thermo-regulated fermentation and a vatting period of about thirty days. This was followed by maloloactic fermentation in barrels and a batch ageing of 12 months in oak barrels (30% new).

Resulting from a blend dominated by 85% Merlot, supplemented by 15% Cabernet Franc, Château de la Dauphine 2019 is dressed in a beautiful dark purple, almost black.
On the nose, it distils an ample and complex bouquet of stewed and jammy black fruits. Aromas of juicy blackberries and sweet plums mingle with tertiary notes of cocoa and crushed spices.
On the palate, Château de la Dauphine 2019 offers a full-bodied attack. The freshness of crunchy black fruits explodes in the mid-palate, supported by a fine, velvety tannic line, to end on a long, chewy finish of rare elegance.

Château de la Dauphine aims to reach the level of the greatest right bank growths and is getting closer and closer to them with each vintage. What if the 2019 vintage saw this ambition become reality?
