Château Carlmagnus, a family estate since 1953, is located in the small town of Fronsac. Its vineyard covers a large area of 16 hectares, made up of perfectly exposed clay and limestone soils planted with a single grape variety: Merlot.
The estate attaches great importance to traditional methods that allow the terroir to express itself. This is why the vines are harvested by hand before vinification in small wooden vats, then matured in oak barrels (the proportion of new barrels can reach 100%).

Château Carlmagnus 2017 is 100% Merlot.
In the glass, it shows itself dressed in a magnificent purple colour with a ruby edge.
On the nose, it exhibits a rich and complex bouquet loaded with juicy black fruits intertwined with earthy aromas and peppery spices.
On the palate, Château Carlmagnus 2017 is moderately full-bodied and sapid. The supple and silky tannic structure supports well-balanced aromas of ripe black fruit. The palate is tense and offers a remarkable long finish.
