Originally called Vieille Vigne du Cramant, this cuvée was renamed Larmandier Bernier Vieille Vigne du Levant to avoid confusion with "Crémant". This distinction also refers to the special climate of the vines of this cuvée. Indeed, at the place called "Bourron du Levant", contrary to the rest of Cramant, the vines are located on the other side of the hillside, and are exposed to the sun's rays as soon as it rises. This magical vineyard produces particularly rich and ripe grapes!
The deep rooting of these old vines, some of which are 80 years old, exceptionally well situated on a clayey vein of surface makes this terroir unique. It is this magnificent terroir that probably allows Champagne Larmandier Bernier Vieille Vigne du Levant 2009 to overflow with power in the mouth while keeping a mineral structure.
The Vieille Vigne du Levant 2009 de Larmandier Bernier is, like the other vintages of the estate, cultivated biodynamically and raised in the respect of nature with a natural fermentation thanks to natural yeasts.
After a first year with no filtration or fining, the bottles went down to the cellar for their second fermentation and an ageing period of 7 to 8 years. Powerful, mineral, with an exotic bouquet, the Champagne Larmandier Bernier Vieille Vigne du Levant 2009 is an extra-raw wine (2g/l) with a discreet dosage, all in balance and length!
Aperitif - Rich fish (salmon, tuna, etc.) - Various cheeses - White meat - Appetizers
