Château La Conseillante's 12 hectares of vineyards are wonderfully located in Pomerol, between the great Petrus and Cheval Blanc. The vineyard has a clayey-gravelly soil on a subsoil of iron drosses and benefits from a grape variety of Merlot (mainly) and Cabernet Franc.

In respect for tradition, the estate works the vines by hand before vinifying them in parcels in order to get the best out of each plot. The wine is then aged in oak barrels (between 80 and 100% new depending on the needs of the vintage) for 16 to 18 months.

Château La Conseillante 2018 is a blend dominated by Merlot (83%) and completed with Cabernet Franc (17%).
It has a deep colour with a very dark purple hue, almost black, and reveals a lively and complex bouquet of red and black fruits coated with chocolate notes, forest floor with a touch of flowers and earth.
On the palate, Château La Conseillante 2018 offers a powerful and full-bodied attack, quickly lining the tongue and inside the cheeks. The mid-palate reveals an aromatic avalanche of ripe and juicy fruit supported by a soft and silky tannic line and a subtly measured freshness. The fruit aromas then evolve, revealing a long finish and releasing a hint of minerality.
