The vineyard of Maison José Michel is located in Moussy, on the Left Bank of the Marne Valley, on the Côte d'Epernay.

For a long time, the Cuvée Clos Saint Jean was produced around Pinot Meunier. Today, the Champagne José Michel Clos Saint Jean is produced in Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay).

After a manual harvest on one of the most beautiful plots of the estate, the 2011 Clos Saint Jean has been vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged on natural lees.
In the glass, it has a magnificent bright yellow colour with warm reflections, crossed by a string of fine and lively bubbles.
Ample and exuberant, Champagne José Michel Clos Saint Jean Blanc de Blancs 2011 opens with an intensely fruity bouquet, tinged with notes of juicy peaches, ripe apricots, and fresh citrus fruits as well as a subtle touch of gourmet buttercream.
On the palate, the 2011 Clos Saint Jean offers a beautiful balance. Lively, acidic fruit aromas are supported by a velvety, frothy texture and elegant notes of meringues, almonds and toast emerging from the blend as the long, lingering finish approaches.

The Champagne José Michel Clos Saint Jean 2011 is an exceptional wine that will gain even more maturity. It should reach its ideal tasting range around 2020.
