Second Cru Classé
Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (80% and 20% respectively), harvested between late September and mid-October in the heart of Pauillac, Château Pichon Longueville Baron 2014 is a Second Growth with a magnificent intense ruby/garnet colour.
On the nose, Château Pichon Longueville Baron 2014 is shy and tight. It's not as expressive a bouquet as the recent 2009 and 2010, but after a few minutes of aeration, it opens with elegant notes of black fruit, dominated by blackberries, coated in woody notes of cedar and touches of pencil lead.
On the palate, the Château Pichon Longueville Baron 2014 is more expressive. Medium to full-bodied, with a particularly concentrated attack followed by lively acidity. The aromas of black fruits are impressive, and continue to evolve in mouth until finishing on a delicious and precise finale, letting express delicate notes of graphite.
Château Pichon Longueville Baron 2014 is a powerful, rich and refined Pauillac that will go perfectly with fine game dishes such as deer or quail.
