About Pétrus 1981
Bottle (75cl)

Recognised as one of the best wines in the world, Petrus comes from the Pomerol appellation and is composed of a blend of 100% Merlot.

The 1981 vintage of Pétrus was initially rather austere and closed. It is only after long aeration that it reveals its full potential.
On the nose, it gives off a discreet bouquet of red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, and roasted notes of coffee mixed with woody hints of oak and warm spices. After aeration, its bouquet becomes more complex and reveals aromas of cocoa and blond tobacco.
On the palate, Petrus 1981 looks more like a left-hand bank wine, relatively unsweetened and less unctuous than its peers. Quite light in the mouth, almost airy, it offers aromas of red fruits accompanied by floral notes.

Petrus 1981 is not a Pétrus like the others, it still presents a great elegance but in a smoother and less fancy way.
