About Château Lascombes 2018
Bottle (75cl)

The history of Château Lascombes is eventful. First owned by the Lascombes family, the estate quickly rose to a level of quality worthy of the finest wines of the Margaux appellation. After the French Revolution, the Château experienced many changes of ownership and finally reached the official rank of Second Cru Classé in 1855. In the following years, Château Lascombes passed from hand to hand, reducing the size of its vineyard and the quality of its wines.

Years later, in 1952, following a takeover by Alexis Lichine, Château Lascombes was modernised and began its return to the top of the list. Today, Château Lascombes once again deserves its place!

The Château Lascombes vineyard covers an area of 84 hectares divided into a multitude of small parcels of clayey-limestone gravel and deep gravel. The vineyard's vines are 35 years old, mainly Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Franc (45%), with 5% Petit Verdot.

Château Lascombes 2018 is dressed in a superb deep purple colour with ruby tints. If it seems shy at first glance, it opens quickly after a few shakes of the glass, giving rise to a complex bouquet of cooked and jammy black berries rolled up in tertiary notes of laurel and forest floor.
On the palate, Château Lascombes 2018 offers a rich and ample attack. The juicy black fruit aromas emerge in the middle palate and are enhanced by a solid structure, bursting with abundant and granular tannins. The deliciously fruity finish lasts for long seconds.
