About Château Lascombes 2017
Bottle (75cl)

With a total surface area of 120 hectares, Château Lascombes is one of the largest vineyards of the Margaux appellation's Grands Crus Classés (Second Cru Classé in the 1855 classification).

Its estate is based on three distinct terroirs, each occupying a relatively identical surface area: a gravelly hilltop, clayey gravel and clay-limestone soils. These different terroirs are skillfully exploited to get the best out of each grape variety. Thus the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot benefit from a gravelly soil while the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon take advantage of the clayey and clayey gravelly gravel plots.

Produced from a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, Château Lascombes 2017 has benefited from 18 months maturing in oak barrels.

In the glass, Château Lascombes 2017 has a beautiful deep garnet/purple color with ruby red highlights.
On the nose, it exhibits an exuberant bouquet of spring flowers and herbs intermixed with a core of black fruits, kirsch, crushed plums, and black currants. After a few swirls in the glass, notes of cinnamon and cedar emerge in turn.
On the palate, the 2017 Lascombes offers a moderate attack and a juicy, concentrated mid-palate. The aromas of black fruits are well transcribed and finely delineated, supported by a firm and grainy tannic structure leading to a spicy and mineral finish that is as long as it is persistent.

Already ready for tasting, Château Lascombes 2017 will gain even more maturity with a few years in the cellar. It should remain at its peak of maturity for about twenty years.
