The 2016 vintage of Château Grand Puy Lacoste is made up of a blend of two grape varieties: 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot harvested in the heart of the Pauillac AOC and aged in 75% new oak barrels.

On the nose, the Grand Puy Lacoste 2016 offers an amazingly pure bouquet with aromas of blackberry and heather enhanced by a woody hint of cedar.
On the palate, it is moderately full-bodied with finely worked tannins, and much silkier than on the tannins of some old vintages of Grand Puy Lacoste.
The great finesse of the tannins combined with the light acidity of the mixture, bring a great freshness to the wine.

Like many Pauillac of 2016, the Grand Puy Lacoste 2016 improves with aeration, gaining harmony and precision. This 2016 vintage is a Pauillac without flaw offering, in addition, a very nice length on the palate, intense and elegant.
