About Château La Fleur 2016
Bottle (75cl)

Small estate in the Saint-Emilion appellation, Château La Fleur is the property of Laurent Dassault (also owner of Château Dassault) who acquired it in 2002 with the aim of bringing it up to the rank of Grand Cru Classé, on a par with its illustrious neighbours.

The land of Château La Fleur Dassault extends over 16 hectares of clay-limestone soils on the northern plateau of Saint-Emilion. The vineyard benefits from a grape variety, atypical for the AOC, favouring Merlot (77%), supplemented by Cabernet Franc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%). The vines are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, with regular ploughing and controlled yields.

After manual harvesting and plot by plot vinification in thermo-regulated concrete and stainless steel vats, Château La Fleur 2016 has been aged in barrels for 15 to 16 months depending on the plot.

In the glass, Château La Fleur 2016 has a beautiful deep purple garnet colour and a nose of small cooked and jammy black and red berries with elegant fragrances of graphite, wood and dried tobacco.
On the palate, Château La Fleur 2016 opens with a medium attack followed by a round and velvety mid-palate. The fine and silky tannins wonderfully support the black fruit core until the finish is as soft as it is persistent.

Already ready for tasting, Château La Fleur 2016 is at its peak of maturity. As a wine made for cellaring, it should continue to evolve and gain in maturity over the next fifteen years, rewarding the most patient connoisseurs!
