Château Boyd Cantenac is a Troisième Cru Classé of the Margaux appellation. Its vineyard covers an area of some ten hectares of siliceous gravel and is planted with vines over 40 years old: mainly Cabernet Sauvignon but also Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

The owner of Château Boyd Cantenac, Lucien Guillemet, has always defended the idea of environmentally friendly wine production. Ahead of its time (and its competitors), the property has now been cultivated in a sustainable way for more than 40 years, without using chemical fertilizers.

The production of Château Boyd Cantenac begins with manual harvesting before vinification in stainless steel and cement vats. This is followed by a traditional maturing period of 12 to 18 months in oak barrels (mostly new).

Château Boyd Cantenac 2017 has a beautiful dark purple colour with ruby on the edge of the glass.
On the nose, it exhales a charming bouquet of cooked and jammy black fruits as well as notes of woodland and humid undergrowth.
Château Boyd Cantenac 2017 is moderately full-bodied on the attack. The mid-palate is filled with ripe and juicy fruit, full of freshness and supported by soft and structuring tannins leading to an elegant, fruity finish with a subtle earthy touch.
