Château Dauzac, Cinquième Cru Classé, is one of the renowned estates of the Margaux appellation. Its vineyard extends over an area of 45 hectares in one piece, facing the Gironde, and composed of a superb croup of deep gravel on a clayey-gravelly subsoil.
The grape varieties are mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon vines (the rest of the vines being shared between Cabernet Franc and Merlot) and are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable agriculture.
The grapes are harvested manually at full maturity and then the wine is aged for 16 to 18 months in oak barrels (60-70% of which are new).

Château Dauzac 2017 is built around a core of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. Unlike some other Margaux wines, the grapes escaped the frost episode that struck the Bordeaux vineyards in April 2017.

Château Dauzac 2017 has a beautiful deep purple colour with ruby tints.
In the glass, it has an elegant and fragrant nose of red and black fruits intertwined and surrounded by subtle notes of spices and wood.
On the palate, Château Dauzac 2017 offers a lively and distinguished attack with a straight and well-structured tannic line. Ripe red and black fruits unfold on the tongue and cheeks, revealing notes of warm spices as a remarkably long gourmet finish approaches.

Château Dauzac 2017 should reach its peak in 2025 and should only begin its decline from 2040.
