Located in the heart of the AOC Pomerol, Château Rouget occupies a vineyard of some 18 hectares with clay and gravel soils. The vineyard's grape varieties are dominated by Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%).
From a highly qualitative point of view, the property tends to favour low yields by not exceeding 35hl/ha.

The grapes used to make Château Rouget 2017 were harvested by hand, in a crate, before being vinified and matured in oak barrels (50% of which were new).

In the glass, Château Rouget 2017 shows a beautiful very dark purple colour, almost black.
It has an elegant and complex bouquet of small black berries wrapped in tertiary scents of wood and smoke.
Medium-bodied on the attack, Château Rouget 2017 offers a round and firm palate full of juicy black fruit aromas underlined by a velvety and finely worked tannic line. Still shy in the final, let's bet that he will gain in expression in the coming years.
