It is thanks to Hubert de Boüard de Laforest's constant efforts that the famous Saint-Emilion, Château Angélus, is one of the few elected to have obtained the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the last ranking.

Composed of a blend of Merlot (65%) and Cabernet Franc (35% and made from 60 to 80 year old vines), the 2018 vintage of Château Angélus is a tribute to Jacques de Boüard, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal's grandfather. The 2018 vintage also marks a turning point in the history of Angélus since from now on, 10% of the harvest will be aged in large oak casks.

In the glass, Château Angélus 2018 has a beautiful deep garnet colour and a slightly shy and sensual bouquet of red and black fruits mixed with floral notes of red roses. On the second nose, it evolves, releasing more complex aromas of cocoa, black tea and hot spices, as well as a delicious toasted touch.
Moderately full-bodied, Château Angélus 2018 quickly covers the palate, offering an ample and multi-layered palate of ripe fruit, black raspberries, cherries and blackberries interspersed with notes of spices and flowers. These innumerable aromatic layers are supported by a soft and velvety tannic structure that then evolves towards an exceptionally fresh finish of almost infinite length.

No doubt, Château Angélus 2018 is already a masterpiece!
