The Cuvée Werlé is a tribute to Mathieu Edouart Werlé, who was hired by the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin House as a commercial employee before rising through the ranks to become Mrs. Clicquot's associate. On the death of the latter, he managed the company before being appointed president of the Reims Commercial Court in 1846.

Champagne Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Werlé is made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The predominance of Pinot Noir structures the wine in a typical Clicquot style, complemented by a touch of Pinot Meunier. Chardonnay, on the other hand, brings elegance and finesse to form a great champagne with perfect balance.

On the nose, the Champagne Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Werlé offers beautiful notes of green apples interspersed with grilled brioches.
On the palate, Champagne Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Werlé is a well-balanced wine with lively acidity, revealing notes of blackberries, citrus zest, biscuit and honey, as well as a hint of spices and a smoky note.
