Château La Conseillante is produced in the heart of the Pomerol AOC. Despite its absence in the 1855 classification, it is one of the great wines of the appellation.
It is a blend of two grape varieties, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Château La Conseillante 1986 is dressed in a beautiful garnet robe, slightly amber on the edge of the glass.
It reveals a bouquet of sweet cherries, cigar tobacco and leather as well as woody notes of toasted oak and cedar.
On the palate, La Conseillante 1986 is moderately full-bodied, very sweet and ripe on the palate to evolve towards more tannic aromas on the finish. Fruits of the nose are also found in the mouth, spreading out on the tongue aromas of ripe black cherries as well as notes of cranberry compote.
The finish, subtly tannic, is long, persistent and tasty.
