Produced only in the best years, the Louis XV vintage is the quintessential De Venoge style. This exceptional cuvée, created as a tribute to King Louis XV (who introduced Champagne to the royal court), is marketed in a unique bottle, reminiscent of the shape of the decanters used to decant wine in the 18th century.

The 2008 vintage of Champagne de Venoge Louis XV is the first to be produced without malolactic fermentation. Built around a blend of Chardonnay (50%) and Pinot Noir (50%), it is reputed to be the best vintage ever produced by the House!

In the glass, Champagne De Venoge Louis XV 2008 has a superb deep yellow colour with an incredibly fine and lively effervescence forming a mantle of persistent foam.
On the nose, it opens timidly on a mineral bouquet subtly tinged with white flower notes. After a few seconds of aeration, the fragrances gain in depth and become more complex, revealing citrus notes mixed with touches of red fruits, raspberries and morello cherries.
On the palate, Champagne De Venoge Louis XV Brut 2008 offers a powerful attack, prolonging the olfactory sensations of the nose. The continuity of the aromas impresses by its accuracy, then gains in complexity, releasing greedy aromas of almonds as well as peppery notes before finishing on a remarkably long and mineral finish.

The 2008 Champagne de Venoge Louis XV should enter its ideal tasting range in 2020 and should remain in this range until at least 2038.
