The Clos du Marquis was founded in 1902 by the Marquis de Las Cases. Its name is a tribute to the Petit Clos, residence of the Marquis, located not far from the Château de Léoville on the terroir of Saint Julien.

The Clos du Marquis 2012 is composed of a blend of three grape varieties, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

This 2012 vintage of Clos du Marquis has a beautiful dark purple colour with ruby tints.
It distils a rich and delicate bouquet of black fruits. Its blackcurrant cream aromas give it a great freshness enhanced by a hint of vanilla sweetness.
In the mouth, the Clos du Marquis 2012 begins with a fresh and direct attack, it opens in the middle of the mouth with unctuous black fruits supported by medium-bodied tannins.

The Clos du Marquis 2012 is a success on the whole line which deserves to be considered as one of the best crus classés of the Médoc!

The Clos du Marquis 2012 will be the perfect accompaniment to red meat with a powerful flavour like lamb, ostrich or sheep.
