About Château Pontet-Canet 2017
Bottle (75cl)

Located near the Pauillac estuary, the vineyard of Château Pontet Canet extends over an area of 81 hectares divided into three parcels, the largest covers 50 hectares. The property is planted with 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, all planted on clay and limestone soils.
Since 2005, the vineyard has applied the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. Alfred and Gérard Tesseron continue today to seek the most sustainable ways to get the best out of their land.

The 2017 vintage of Château Pontet Canet suffered little from the frosts of April, so the vast majority of the harvest could be used in the design of the wine.
It is since this year that, for the first time, 30% of the production could be fermented in the new winery of the estate, composed of smaller tanks (40 liters) allowing a finer selection.

Château Pontet Canet 2017 is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon plus 31% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
In the glass, Château Pontet Canet 2017 reveals a beautiful deep ruby/purple color and distills a bouquet of black fruits and berries as well as violet petals accompanied by subtle notes of cinnamon and tobacco. On the palate, Château Pontet Canet 2017 is medium-bodied and offers a fine, granular tannic structure.
Rich and energetic, it explodes in the mouth, revealing an extraordinary freshness as the layers of fruit follow one another and evolve on a very long finish and revealing some subtle mineral touches.
