The vineyard of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande extends over an area of 89 hectares of clay and gravel soils and is planted with vines of 35 years old average age.

The 2016 vintage of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is produced from a blend of three grape varieties, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Merlot (21%) and a little Cabernet Franc (4%).
The juice obtained is matured in 60% new oak barrels for about 18 months.

On the first nose, the Pichon Comtesse 2016 offers a timid bouquet, which reveals itself as the wine aerates in the glass with aromas of black fruits, blackberries mainly, covered with a woody note of cedar and a hint of minerality.
On the palate, it is perfectly balanced and well built. While the 79% of Cabernet makes it both complex and refined, the 21% of Merlot gives it its exceptional fruity aromas.
As in the nose, the Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2016 needs time to reveal itself completely on the palace. it gains intensity every second while preserving a great fruity freshness.

The Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2016 offers again this year an exceptional ageing potential. A great Pauillac!
