Second Cru Classé
The Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, the famous Second Growth from the Pauillac AOC , is made from a blend of five grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1986 is one of the best vintages in the estate.
Despite its great age, it has a beautiful ruby/purple colour as dense and dark as a wine less than five years old.
On the nose, it gives off aromas of black and blue fruits, blackcurrant, redcurrants covered with liquorice, spices, cedar and a touch of earth.
On the palate, the Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1986 is moderately full-bodied, intense and very concentrated with a still massive tannic structure. On the palate, it has aromas of ripe red fruit and warm spices, as well as woody notes.
Ready to drink now, the Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1986 still has enough potential to age for a few years in the cellar.
