Petrus 2006 is composed of a regular blend for the estate, 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
It is dressed in a beautiful dark red colour slightly evolved with ruby tints.
Petrus 2006 presents an unbelievable aromatic pallet emerging from the first nose with aromas of black fruit of great ripeness, cherries, and fruits of the woods, covered with caramel and wood with a light hint of fig.
In the mouth, Pétrus 2006 offers a silky and ample entry, with a hint of fat. The black fruits are always very powerful, enhanced by very powerful and refined tannins and touches of coffee and caramel.
This aromatic strength lasts until the last second of an exceptionally long and persistent finish!
Petrus 2006 is once again a monument of wine, powerful and lively but also soft, silky and refined. As usual with Petrus, it is recommended to keep each bottle in the cellar for a few years in order to give it time to reach its full potential, in the case of Petrus 2006, Wine Spectator advises to wait until 2014 at least, although it will continue to evolve for a few decades.
