Petrus 1947 has a magnificent medium deep garnet colour.
Its tertiary nose literally overflows with glass dominated by jammy black fruit, spices, tea and blond tobacco, as well as greedier notes of caramel and butter.
On the palate, the 1947 Petrus shows incredible viscosity and sweetness. Perfectly balanced, it is surprisingly fresh and mineral on the tongue. The candied and abundant black fruits quickly invade the mouth to give way to a sensational finish with an infinite length.
Petrus is certainly the best of the wines, but Petrus 1947 is definitely the best of the Petrus!
