Château Mazeyres is one of the best value for money in Pomerol. It has been run for about twenty years by the famous Alain Moueix (one of the most renowned agronomist and oenologist in the Bordeaux region) who has transformed and modernised the estate in order to get the best out of it.

Since he took over the reins of the property, the vineyard of Château Mazeyres, which only had 8 hectares of land, has grown to a surface area of 25 hectares. He has also converted the estate to biodynamics and organic farming, as he did a few years ago with Château Fonroque. These changes quickly paid off, allowing the estate's wines to rise up in quality, expressing the full potential of the vineyard and its terroir.

The vineyard of Château Mazeyres covers a beautiful surface of 25 hectares of sandy gravel on a subsoil of iron slag. It is planted mainly with Merlot, but also with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Château Mazeyres 2019 is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, half of which is matured in oak barrels, with the remainder being aged in concrete vats and tuns.
In the glass, it has a magnificent purple colour with a ruby rim.
On the nose and in the mouth, Château Mazeyres 2019 shows a dense, ripe profile, full of juicy black fruit aromas wrapped in layers of violets. Blackcurrant and blueberry pits are fresh in the mid-palate, supported by a full-bodied, yet elegant, velvety tannic structure that indicates good aging potential.
