Third Growth in the 1855 classification, Château Langoa Barton became the property of Hugh Barton in 1821 and was transmitted to his heirs who still run it today.
Located in the Gironde department, in the heart of the Saint Julien appellation, the vineyard of Château Langoa Barton covers an area of 15 hectares of gravelly soil on a sandy clay subsoil. The grape varieties are 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The Château produces an average of 80000 bottles per year in cellars shared with Château Léoville Barton.
Château Langoa Barton 2017 is built around a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), with 38% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. It offers a concentrate of the qualities of Saint Julien wines. Rich, fresh and balanced, the Langoa Barton 2017 reveals a very pure bouquet tinged with notes of ripe and sweet red berries.
Medium-bodied in the mouth, it perfectly reflects the aromas present on the nose. The red fruits grow in the mouth, supported by ripe tannins and a well-judged acidity line to conclude on a fresh and tasty finish.
