About Château Durfort-Vivens 2017
Bottle (75cl)

Château Durfort-Vivens is a wine estate located in the heart of the Margaux AOC. The origins of the estate date back to the 14th century but it will take another 5 centuries, and the work of the Viscount of Vivens, for the property to gain its reputation as a world-class property.
More recently, in 1937, the management of Château Durfort-Vivens passed into the hands of the famous Lurton family (Yquem, Cheval Blanc, etc...) who continue to modernize the estate today.

The vineyard of Château Durfort-Vivens covers an area of some 55 hectares on a terroir of deep and poor gravelly hills that favour ideal maturity and concentration of matter.

Château Durfort-Vivens 2017 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a little Cabernet Franc harvested by hand and vinified in a parcellar manner before maturing for 18 months in oak barrels (40% new barrels).
In the glass, Château Durfort-Vivens 2017 has a beautiful intense purple colour with a garnet-tinted rim.
It has a fresh and elegant nose, full of aromas of black berries and violets.
On the palate, Château Durfort-Vivens 2017 offers a caressing attack before a fruity and incredibly juicy mid-palate. The finely crafted tannins support the aromas of black fruit and highlight the tertiary notes of roasted dried fruit and spices that emerge on the long finish.

According to Bettane & Desseauve, Château Durfort-Vivens 2017 "will compete with the first growths for a really attractive price!"
