Château Lagrange, Troisième Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, is located to the west of the Saint-Julien appellation, near Beychevelle. Its vineyard covers an area of 125.5 hectares and is composed of two hilltops of sandy gravel and ferruginous clay. Most of the vineyard benefits from a red grape variety dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), supplemented by Merlot (28%) and a few vines of Petit Verdot (7%).
Château Lagrange cultivates its estate according to the principles of sustainable agriculture in order to protect the soil and biodiversity as well as to restore the exceptional qualities of its vineyard.
After manual harvesting, the grapes are vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats at low temperature (never above 30°C) and then the juices are aged in oak barrels for 20 months (usually with 60% new barrels).
In the glass, Château Lagrange 2017 has a superb purple colour with ruby tints and a pure and charming bouquet of small ripe red and black berries.
On the palate, Château Lagrange 2017 offers a lively and fresh attack. The mid-palate is perfectly balanced, with a fine and velvety tannic structure supporting juicy and fresh red and black fruit aromas.
