The year 1984 is known to have been a rather weak vintage. Nevertheless, like many great estates, Château la Mission Haut Brion still achieved a fine performance and produced a very fine 1984 Mission Haut Brion.
Made from a blend typical of the Pessac Léognan appellation, Château la Mission Haut Brion 1984 is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
It presents a magnificent deep ruby robe tending to garnet on the edges.
On the nose, Château la Mission Haut Brion 1984 reveals an elegantly shy bouquet with notes of red berries, currants, cigar boxes, dark chocolate, graphite, leather and hay.
Full and silky in the mouth, Château la Mission Haut Brion 1984 offers a refined tannic structure and very finely worked. Very balanced, it reveals a superb acidity, well balanced and highlighting the aromas of ripe fruit until revealing a firm and very long finish.
