Located on the right bank of Bordeaux, the Château La Fleur Petrus vineyard extends over 18.7 hectares of gravel and clay typical of the Pomerol plateau. Since 1950 the property, neighbouring the great Petrus and Château Lafleur, belongs to Jean-Pierre Moueix (also owner of Château Trotanoy). In 1994, it expanded with the acquisition of the Château Le Gay vineyard.

The frosts at the end of April 2017 did not affect the vineyards of Château La Fleur Petrus, according to Christian Moueix (president of the company). Most of the damage occurred in the appellation Lalande de Pomerol. There will not be any production this year at Château Belair.

Composed of a blend dominated by Merlot (91%) and completed with Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petit Verdot (3%), Château La Fleur Petrus 2017 is dressed in a magnificent intense and dark purple garnet colour and distills a bouquet full of ripe and candied black fruits, blackberries and blackcurrants, coated in notes of earth, spices with a touch of roasting.
On the palate, Château La Fleur Petrus 2017 offers a moderately fleshy body and a fine, straight tannic structure. After a fatty and juicy attack, the black fruits develop in the middle of the mouth, supported by granular and coating tannins, and let earthy notes emerge on a smooth and noble finish, with an extraordinary length !
