Located in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château Haut-Marbuzet overlooks a 76-hectare vineyard near Château Cos d'Estournel.
The vineyard is composed of a croup of gravel on a clay-limestone subsoil and is planted with the three typical grape varieties of Saint-Estephe: Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (40%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). The vines are cultivated in a rational way (with a minimum of chemical treatment) and harvested manually at full maturity (or even sometimes at over-maturity) before traditional vinification in thermo-regulated vats and maturing for 18 months in new barrels.
In the glass, Château Haut-Marbuzet 2017 has a beautiful dark purple colour with garnet tints and a rich and ample bouquet of ripe red and black fruits.
The palate of Château Haut-Marbuzet 2017 shows a beautiful balance and a well balanced acidity. The ripe and juicy red and black fruits are supported by a silky and finely worked tannic structure.
Château Haut-Marbuzet 2017 is a generous wine that will be enjoyed quickly but can be kept for about fifteen years. It should reach its peak in 2025 but can be enjoyed between 2020 and 2035.
