The history of Chateau Haut Bailly has had its ups and downs. In the first half of the 20th century, the property went down to hell because of numerous changes of ownership and poor choices in the treatment of the vines.
But in the second half of the century, around 1955, Daniel Sanders bought the property in order to give it back its former glory. After renovating the Château and its vineyard, he entrusts the management to Jean Sanders, his son, who will produce twenty exceptional vintages.
Later, in 1998, the Château will be bought by Robert Wilmer, who will be determined to show the world that the Château Haut Bailly deserves more than ever its title of Cru Exceptionnel!
Château Haut Bailly 1967 presents a dark and intense purple robe.
On the nose, it offers a splendid bouquet of black fruits dominated by blackcurrant, covered in a touch of roasted coffee and roasted oak.
On the palace, the Château Haut Bailly 1967 is rich, suave and elegant. The aromas of black fruits are always very present, giving it a certain freshness. More spicy touches line the mouth in successive layers until a long, distinguished finish.
Château Haut Bailly 1967 is the perfect accompaniment to dishes based on lamb with herbs, tournedos or even hare stew.
