Château Gruaud Larose 2014 is a Second Growth from Saint Julien. It's a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot harvested between September 24 and October 11. It was then fermented in wooden and cement vats and aged in oak barrels (40% of which were new oak).

Château Gruaud Larose 2014 is a self-proclaimed "Wine of Kings", with an airy bouquet that unfolds in the airy glass revealing distinguished aromas of blackberries, blueberries and cedar.
Château Gruaud Larose 2014 offers a fresh, medium-bodied palate. The attack is acid, with hints of lemon at the entrance. The mid-palate lets develop black fruits coated with silky tannins that evolve to reveal a refined and persistent finish.

Still in its prime youth, Château Gruaud Larose 2014 still seems shy. Let us bet that a few years in bottle will make him gain in maturity.
