Château Clos de Sarpe is a small estate located in the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation. It has kept its philosophy of tradition and low yields for nearly a century.

The vineyard of Château Clos de Sarpe covers an area of barely 3.7 hectares on a clayey-limestone hillside facing south-east. The vines are composed of the traditional varieties of the appellation, with a lot of Merlot and some Cabernet Franc.
Harvesting is manual and only begins when the grapes are fully ripe. The low yields allow an incredible concentration of each grain.
The wine is vinified in stainless steel and cement vats before maturing in new oak barrels.

Château Clos de Sarpe 2017 is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
In the glass it has a magnificent intense purple colour with a slightly garnet-coloured edge and exhales a complex and tertiary bouquet of hot pepper and spices coated with abundant cooked and candied red and black fruits. The aeration reveals notes of cocoa, violets and a hint of roasted coffee.
On the palate, Château Clos de Sarpe 2017 offers a powerful and full-bodied attack. The mid-palate is full of ripe and juicy fruit, releasing an incredible freshness supported by a silky tannic line and leading to an exquisite and incredibly long finish!

Château Clos de Sarpe 2017 is produced for at least 10 years ageing.
