It is in the south of the Margaux appellation, on the left bank of the Bordeaux vineyard, that the land of Château Giscours is located. The vineyard extends over an area of nearly 300 hectares and is composed of three superb gravelly crests from the Quaternary era.
Produced around a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (71%), Merlot (24%) and a bit of Petit Verdot (5%), Château Giscours 2017 is dressed in a magnificent deep garnet colour with purple tints.
On the nose, it distills a voluptuous, elegant bouquet of black fruits (black currants, blackberries), dark chocolate, subtle floral notes of violets, and a hint of pepper.
On the palate, the Château Giscours 2017 can easily be compared to the greatest Margaux. It offers a moderately full-bodied attack. The mid-palate sees red and black fruits bloom supported by a tannic structure as soft as velvety, to finish on a fresh and incredibly persistent finish.
Despite a difficult year in 2017 due to the frost that hit the lower parts of the estate, Château Giscours has once again demonstrated its exceptional talent to produce one of the most beautiful Margaux of the vintage!
