Initially owned by Edouard Gasqueton, who raised it to the rank of Cru Classé de Graves, Château Couhins is now the property of INRA, which manages it and conducts fundamental research on wine and vines.

Since then, Château Couhins has been a reference in the field of sustainable development and respect for nature. Its commitment to an EMS (Environmental Management System) approach aimed at integrating respect and protection of the environment into all aspects of the estate's life will enable it to obtain ISO 14001 certification.

Of the 25 hectares of Château Couhins vineyard, 19 are dedicated to the production of red Couhins. The vineyard, made up of gravelly hilltops, clayey-limestone and sandy-clayey soils, benefits from a planting dominated by 50% Merlot supplemented by 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.

After a manual harvest followed by a meticulous sorting of the grapes, Château Couhins 2015 benefited from a 12-month ageing in French oak barrels (40% new wood).

In the glass, Château Couhins 2015 has a beautiful dark purple colour.
Discreet at first on the nose, it reveals itself after a few swirls in the glass, releasing a complex and elegant bouquet of ripe red and black fruits as well as subtle spicy touches.
Rich and well-balanced, Château Couhins 2015 offers a supple palate full of juicy fruit aromas supported by a fine and velvety tannic structure. Pure and creamy, it has a long finish with delicate spicy notes.
