Château Beaumont sits on a vast estate of more than 100 hectares located in the heart of the Haut-Médoc appellation. The vineyard is made up of hilltops of günzian and sandy gravel and benefits from a grape variety dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, completed by Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The vines are about twenty years old on average.
Concerned about the respect of the environment and biodiversity on its estate, Château Beaumont practises a reasoned viticulture rejecting herbicides and pesticides. In this perspective, the property has been Terra Vitis certified since 2004 and is now certified High Environmental Value as well.
Château Beaumont 2016 is made from a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot to which are added Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. After vinification, the juices benefited from a 14-month ageing in oak barrels (30% new barrels).
In the glass, Château Beaumont 2016 has an attractive deep purple color with ruby reflections.
On the nose, it opens with a bouquet of ripe black fruits enhanced by delicate notes of vanilla, spices and oak.
On the palate, Château Beaumont 2016 offers a smooth and moderately full-bodied attack followed by a mid-palate bursting with juicy fruit and abundant freshness. The black fruit aromas are supported by a soft and velvety tannic structure, contributing to its beautiful aromatic persistence.
