In 2000, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud decided to plant a few vines of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris on plots adjacent to Château Valandraud (made up of clay and limestone soils). From the harvest of these vines was born, in 2003, the Valandraud Blanc.
Château Valandraud Blanc is vinified according to traditional methods in barrels (60% new) and was immediately praised by critics for its nose reminiscent of Burgundy wines.
The 2018 vintage of Château Valandraud Blanc has a beautiful golden colour and an elegant nose of exotic fruits, citrus fruits and orange blossoms subtly enhanced by discreet touches of lime blossom and a hint of minerality.
On the palate, Château Valandraud 2018 white offers a velvety texture bursting with aromas of tropical fruits and ripe citrus fruits, unveiled in successive layers and coated with incredible minerality, promoting remarkable tension until the finish.
The annual production of Valandraud Blanc is very limited (3000 bottles). It is therefore very difficult to find them.
