Château Prieuré-Lichine has been part of the history of the Margaux appellation since the 15th century, when it was founded by some Benedictine monks. Its vineyard, very fragmented, extends over 68 hectares of diverse terroirs but always containing a high proportion of Günzian gravel. This mosaic of terroirs is one of the strengths of this Fourth Growth, giving it richness and complexity.

The 2019 vintage of Château Prieuré-Lichine is produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), Merlot (35%) and Petit Verdot (3%). The juices are then matured in oak barrels, 40% of which are new. The overall sunshine in 2019 gives it a gourmet style, bursting with fresh and juicy fruits.

In the glass, Château Prieuré Lichine 2019 has a beautiful deep ruby colour and distils a fine, concentrated bouquet, tinged with notes of red and black fruits such as ripe cherries and juicy plums.
On the palate, Château Prieuré-Lichine 2019 is moderately full-bodied. In the mid-palate, the aromas of greedy fruits develop, wrapped in a silky, elegant texture of ripe tannins in pure Margaux style. The finish offers a remarkable persistence, marked by elegant touches of spices and liquorice.

Rich, complex and very concentrated, 2019 Château-Prieuré Lichine has all the assets to offer great ageing potential.
