The Réserve de la Comtesse is the second wine of the Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande.
On the Left Bank side, the Réserve de la Comtesse is renowned as one of the second most reliable wines. Indeed, since its creation in 1973, the Réserve de la Comtesse has benefited from the same care and attention as its older brother, Château Pichon Longueville.
Composed of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (51%), Merlot (46%) and the rest of Petit Verdot, the Réserve de la Comtesse 2010 is dressed in a magnificent dark garnet robe with ruby highlights.
On the first nose, it looks somewhat closed, but after a few minutes of aeration, the Reserve de la Comtesse releases sumptuous aromas of black fruits, blackcurrant, and spices such as pepper and cinnamon.
The Reserve de la Comtesse 2010 is a voluminous wine on the palate. After a short aeration, the tannins reveal themselves, emphasizing all the fruity complexity of the wine: blackberry, black cherry, licorice, all in perfect balance, and enhanced by a woody touch.
The Réserve de la Comtesse 2010 is once again a great success!
It can be enjoyed around a game dish or a strong-tasting cheese.
