L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne was born out of a simple question.
In 1990, Denis Dubourdieu wondered what would be the taste of a Sauternes wine whose Sauvignon grapes had reached a maximum concentration of noble rot. And the result of the experience was spectacular, giving a nervous, balanced wine, full of fine and elegant flavours, and of incomparable purity!

L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne is built around 2/3 Semillon and 1/3 Sauvignon Blanc. It benefits from manual harvesting followed by a long and progressive pressing that can last two full days. Two consecutive maturities follow: a first of 10 months in barrels and a second of 9 months in vats.

L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne 2018 has a beautiful golden yellow colour with luminous reflections.
It has a fabulous aromatic intensity from the first nose, releasing a bouquet of fresh and ripe citrus fruits (grapefruit, lemon, orange) as well as exotic notes, a touch of honey and a hint of minerality.
On the palate, L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne 2018 offers an extraordinary richness. The aromas of yellow fruits and citrus fruits unfold and line the palate in a rich texture releasing an incredible freshness and an seemingly endless length!
